Our People Services team are proud to offer staff an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). The EAP, delivered by Health Assured, provides staff and their immediate family members with a 24-hour / 365-day helpline to support them through any of life's issues or problems.

Medigold

The introduction of Medigold, our occupational health provider, has significantly improved the support available to staff. Medigold offers a health telephone advice line for managers and People Services colleagues, providing immediate guidance on workplace concerns five days a week. The service also includes training, information and resources to address health and well-being issues. Operations Managers and the People Services team have been trained to use the system effectively, ensuring timely and meaningful referrals when needed.

Well-being and Workload

Embedding the Thrive Approach brings direct benefits to staff - building confidence, reducing stress, and strengthening relationships. It helps colleagues better understand and respond to emotional and behavioural needs, contributing to a more positive, supportive environment. By prioritising well-being, we’re creating a culture where both staff and learners can truly flourish.

Flexible Working

We are signed up to the DFE funded Flexible Working Ambassador Programme so that we can consider new and innovative ways in which we can incorporate flexibility. This programme starts in 2026, and we look forward to sharing new approaches with you.

Cycle to Work Scheme

The health benefits of cycling are well understood. The Cycle to Work Scheme is an employee benefit scheme that enables employees to hire cycles for active travel and/or cyclist’s safety equipment from the employer, or from a third party, in return for a deduction from their earnings known as salary sacrifice. Further information is available for colleagues who would like to take part.

Keeping Active

Colleagues can take advantage of discounted membership at council-run leisure centres. There are gym facilities at our secondary sites and, following an induction, all staff are able to make use of the equipment available at no charge.
