  • Cottingham High's GCSE results

    We are delighted to report that the GCSE class of 2017 have maintained the trend of improving GCSE results witnessed over recent years. Their success follows our recent Ofsted inspection where Cottingham High was judged as good in all areas. With high proportions of top grades, including a string of the new grade 9s in Maths and English, progress remains above average for the second year running, with all attainment measures at or above national averages. Congratulations to all our students for their hard work.

  • Wolfreton's GCSE success stories

    Well done to all of our students, who after so much hard work, received their results today. Headteacher Mr McCready said ‘Despite the huge changes to examinations at Key Stage 4, we are very pleased with these results, which reflect the hard work put in by students and staff alike.’ Particular success stories include Jiayuan Feng who achieved one A and an amazing A* / 9 in everything else. He said ‘I was hoping for a mix of As and A*s so I’ve done better than I’d hoped, I’ll settle for that. I am staying on at Wolfreton for sixth form as the teachers know me and I know them, I feel very comfortable speaking to them. I’m going to study A levels in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Japanese and IT.’

  • Fantastic GCSE results at Hessle High

    The Hessle Academy is celebrating today, after Hessle High School students achieved fantastic results in their GCSEs once again. This follows on from the outstanding A Level results delivered by Hessle Sixth Form students last week.

  • Wolfreton A level celebrations

    Students are celebrating exam success today after all their hard work. Headteacher Mr McCready said: ‘We are delighted with these results, especially considering the new specifications and the uncertainty around grade boundaries. The overall average grade per entry has increased from 2016 and we have a 99% pass rate, as well as a 10% increase in students achieving A*-B or equivalent grades.’

    Particular success stories included Sara Sabha who achieved achieved A* in Geography, A in History, A in French and A* in the Extended Project Qualification. She is going to Oxford University - to Pembroke College to study European and Middle Eastern Languages. Sara said ‘I’m so pleased, Oxford is my dream university and  I can’t believe I’m going there, it’s just started to sink in. I’ve had the best teachers ever, I couldn’t have done it without them but I guess you’ve just got to believe in yourself. My mum is so proud! I’ve now got six French books to read before the start of term so I’d better get started!’

  • Cottingham High's A level excellence

    The class of 2017 have sustained the trend of impressive post-16 student performances of recent years to produce another excellent set of results. 29% of grades achieved were the top grades of A* and A, and over half of all entries awarded were at grade B or higher. Three quarters of all grades achieved were A*-C and the overall pass rate remains at 99%.

    achieved incredible results across a broad spectrum of subjects, with many achieving 100% pass rate
    at A* - B.
