Trust becomes Pathfinder for Ethical Leadership
The Trust has become part of the 280 schools designated as pathfinders working on a new set of principles to support school governors and trustees, as well as executive leaders, in navigating “the educational moral maze”. CEO Dave McCready and Director of Education Sarah Young were delighted to attend the first Framework for Ethical Leadership in Education event in Birmingham. In the context of a highly diversified and increasingly autonomous landscape where accountability measures and their consequences are severe, the guiding principles – known as the Framework for Ethical Leadership in Education – will support education leaders in their decision-making and in calling out unethical behaviour. Building on the Nolan Principles of Public Life, it comprises a set of values and virtues, against which governors, trustees and executive leaders can evaluate their decisions and actions. We welcome the opportunity to continue integrating these guiding principles into everything we do across the Trust.
